Forklift Uses
Who doesn’t appreciate a forklift? They do all the heavy lifting- no pun intended; they are used at construction sites to lift loads of concrete or in warehouses to move pallets of merchandise. They definitely revolutionized the way businesses move large or heavy items. They were first invented during the early part of the twentieth century, forklifts are apart of the industrial world to this day. There are several uses for a forklift in many environments. It Still Runs has a few uses and how they're used.
Useful Uses
Construction Sites- Forklifts can be used to move heavy materials, unload pallets, steel girders and other construction materials from delivery trucks. They can be used to transport to long distances and on a variety of terrain. Many haulage firms now carry truck-mounted forklifts with them.
Warehouses- Forklifts come in a variety of sizes. So, it makes it ideal to use one in a warehouse where space is tight. A small forklift can still make the job easier. They are used to load and unload and for transporting goods. A compact forklift can fit through aisles and still lift a pallet of canned goods. Shelf stackers are used for safely storing goods on shelving and racking systems, sometimes at great heights.
Recycling Operations- Forklifts are commonly used in recycling operations for unloading the recycling trucks or containers and transporting their contents to the sorting bays.
Dockyards- Just like in warehouses, forklifts are used on docks to load and unload from ships and have been doing so since WWII. It becomes quick and efficient, and safe for workers to use forklifts.
Snow Plows- These are used to shovel large amounts of snow with an attachment. Snow can be quickly cleared from parking lots, outdoor walkways, and operating areas.
