The Devastation after the Storm

Image
The Devastation after the Storm After a severe storm that has high winds, you always step outside in dread of what you will see. You might see several things destroyed or damaged. You will see trees torn down and scattered over your yard. It is possible you may have tree limbs on your car, on your house, or even your fence. Despite where the trees and debris land, they typically cause some sort of damage it. You have to clear all of the damage and the debris. This is a big chore that requires the right tools and equipment in order to get your yard back into shape. There are two options that you are faced with. Paying someone a lot of money to clear it out for you, or, the more economical solution, do the work yourself. By doing the work yourself you will know that the job is done right, and you will save money in the process. The Tool Needed for the Job In order to do it yourself, you will need to have the right tool for the job. That tool is the trusty chainsaw. In severe ca...

Tree Trimming Time

Image
Tree Trimming Time Anyone who owns a home that has trees knows that if left unattended trees can get out of hand. The tree's roots and branches will continue to grow and grow. They cover your yard, completely blocking it from sunlight which can kill your grass. If the tree limbs get too big and bulky, they are liable to snap and cause property damage. Also, if the trees get large and out of control they can get into power lines or damage your house. As a homeowner, you cannot allow this to occur. So, when the branches do start to get out of control, you have to go out and trim the limbs off of the tree. This is a task that will no doubt leave you with a bunch of downed branches that you must drag to the side of the road and wait for bulk pick up to take away.   A Better Solution Throwing all of that wood away really seems like a waste. It could be used for firewood. Unfortunately, the wood is to green and will not be able to be burned for at least a year. There is, howeve...

You cannot just cut the stump away, you also can’t just leave the stump where it is at. Maybe one could find a use for the stump. But what use could it really serve? There truly is not a viable option that comes to mind. The reason why you want the stump gone is the same reason why you wanted the tree gone to begin with, and as long as the stump is still there the job will not seem finished. Now the stump is in the way in regards to growing grass, planning a garden, or even building a structure. How to Rid Yourself of the Stump So how can one rid themselves of this problem? Back in the early 20 th century people used dynamite to blow stumps apart. After dynamite became illegal to use, several formulas were used to perform the same task as dynamite. These formulas fell in disfavor aft...

New Rig Site

Image
New Rig Site Those in the oilfield know the same old routine. When a new drill site has been discovered, all of the equipment goes out to the area and is set up. The site will remain set up for several months while that site is drilled for oil. Men will work, eat, and sleep on this site for days on end to produce that black gold that is so vital to our North Texas economy. Everything is on site. There are barracks, roads, food trucks and caters, and of course the rig. The drill site is its own self-sufficient enclosed community. The first stage to this vital component of the oilfield industry is to get the job site set up and prepared to take on the rig and work barracks. Setting the New Rig Site Up It is not so easy that one can just drive to the site and set the rig up. Most of these sites are located on someone’s land. This means that there are no roads to the site, and the area is overgrown with bushes and trees. To get this rig going there is a specific order of operation...
