Why Use Scissor Lifts
When working on a project, having reliable equipment is crucial for getting the job done and to keep everyone safe. There are several types of equipment that can be used, but some are more practical than others. The scissor lift should be a piece of equipment that every contractor should be familiar with. They can bring more to the table than a standard ladder and scaffolding. Article Epsilon breaks it down for us; what are scissor lifts, where one can be used, and the benefits of using one.
Scissor Lift Me Up
Scissor lifts give you a sturdy platform to work off of, with side railings so your chances of falling off are small (you should still take precautions when operating and using a scissor lift). It’s designed to lift you, tools, materials, or other equipment with ease. This movable work platform gets its name from the shape of the struts under the work platform, which are hinged and look like sets of scissors connected together. They come in different variations depending on the type of work and space you have. Some are designed to be used indoors and run on electric motors, and others are used outdoors which run on diesel, petrol or hybrid engines. You can use these platforms for jobs like changing lights or sale signs, accessing high stock shelves in a stock room or warehouse (reminds me of SAMS), trimming trees and bushes.
There are dozens of jobs where lifts can make it so much easier and safe. Ladders and scaffolding can slip causing injuries or death, lifts have a smaller chance of moving while you’re working and you wear a harness which is connected to the railings so even if the worst happens and you fall out, the harness will save you.
